Once you’re back up to the shade of the trees and the main trail, it’s a straight shot back to the meadow and them up to the road and parking area.

The trail is moderate, which makes it a perfect adventure for the casual hiker, or a nice add on to the nearby Lassen Peak for more experienced hikers. The trail to Kings Creek begins behind the bulletin board in the Burrells Ford primitive campground parking lot.
The Kings Creek Falls trailhead can be accessed from the Kings Creek parking lot, which is nearly equidistant from the North and South entrances to the park. Going straight, you’ll soon be walking up several flights of stone stairs that have been carved into the mountain side on the right of a large cascading river/waterfall. The Kings Creek Trail is a great area to catch a glimpse of Lassen’s various wildlife such as Clark’s Nutcrackers and mule deer. Situated near the junction of several natural provinces—the Klamath Mountains, the Coast Ranges, the Cascade Range, the Great Basin, and the Central Valley—Redding, California, makes an awesome jumping-off point for nature enthusiasts.
As you go further, the trail remains somewhat level, and you’ll spot Kings Creek meandering down a number of chutes and small falls.
For a short hike, it offers a lot of different scenery.
